Mini pigs in a blanket are the perfect appetizer for game days, movie nights or any time you’re having a snack attack.

It’s playoff season, the time of year when finger foods and party dips reign supreme. And these crescent roll pigs in a blanket, arranged in a super fun pull-apart ring, are always a favorite appetizer when we’re hanging out with family and friends.
Ingredients
It only takes 4 ingredients to make this fun party appetizer:
- Hot dogs. I use turkey dogs, but any kind of hot dog you like will work here. Mini dogs are already the perfect size for this recipe, or you can cut a regular hot dog into smaller pieces.
- Crescent dough sheets. This makes it super easy to just roll it out and slice it. If you can’t find the sheets, regular crescent roll dough works too. Just use your fingers to seal the seams together as best as possible.
- Butter
- Everything bagel seasoning

How to Make Pull Apart Mini Pigs in a Blanket
Slice the Dough
Start by unrolling the crescent dough and laying it flat on a work surface.
Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to make 8 vertical strips. Then, cut the dough crosswise 5 times, so that you have 40 little strips of dough.
Cut the Dogs
If you’re starting with regular hot dogs and not mini ones, cut each hot dog into 4 smaller pieces.
Roll each piece in a dough strip.
Arrange the Dogs in the Springform Pan
Place a small ramekin in the middle of your springform pan.
Now, just arrange the crescent-wrapped dogs in a circular pattern around the pan. You should end up with three circles of crescent dogs.
Bake!
Take the pan out of the oven halfway through baking to brush the dogs with melted butter and sprinkle them with everything bagel seasoning.
Then, put them back in the oven and bake until the dough is golden brown.

Serving Suggestions
These yummy pull apart bites are best enjoyed slightly warm or at room temperature.
Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce and let the party begin!

Variations
The Dogs: Use your favorite whole hot dogs made of beef, pork or turkey. Or, go for the smaller cocktail wieners which will save you the time of cutting them into smaller pieces. You could also go with mini sausages (sometimes labeled “cocktail sausages“).
Add Cheese: Add a little flair by slipping a small slice of cheese into each pig in a blanket. It will melt during baking and add a gooey component to each bite.
The Seasoning: Everything bagel seasoning’s got it all, but you could also do plain poppy seeds, sesame seeds or even just a simple sprinkle of coarse salt instead.

What sauce goes with pigs in a blanket?
Anything you’d put on a hot dog is fair game for these little bites! Here are some of my favorite dipping sauces, and some not-so-traditional ideas:
- Mustard (yellow mustard is cool, but I love spicy brown)
- Ketchup
- BBQ Sauce
- Ranch dressing
- Cheese sauce
- Honey mustard

Storage Instructions
Wrap your leftovers in plastic wrap, aluminum foil or transfer them to an airtight container. They will stay fresh in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
Reheat your pigs in a blanket on a baking sheet in a warm oven or in your air fryer.
