Light. Salty. Crunchy. Addictive. Some of the words that come to mind when I think about these Homemade Crispy Baked Wonton Chips. Sometimes you just need a change up from the ordinary tortilla chip, and these chips are here to deliver! They’re great for poke, tuna tartare, Asian-inspired dips and even nachos. And you won’t believe how easy they are to make!

What are wonton chips made of?

There are only three ingredients in these wonton chips:

  • Wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil
  • Flaky salt

Because the primary ingredient in wonton wrappers is wheat, these Crispy Baked Wonton Chips are not gluten free.

To make them, simply cut wonton wrappers into triangles, lay them on a baking sheet and brush them lightly with oil. Sprinkle them with flaky salt and bake. Done and done.

Are crispy wonton chips healthy?

Although they are made in the oven and lower in fat than deep fried chips, I still wouldn’t consider wonton chips to be a health food. They’re made from wheat, so right there they won’t be gluten free or keto friendly.

However, when compared to regular tortilla chips, they do have fewer carbohydrates per serving. They’re also safe for vegan and vegetarian diets.

What to eat with crispy baked wonton chips

Think of these chips as an alternative to ordinary tortilla or potato chips. Serve them with dips or topped with cheese. Use them to scoop up poke or tuna tartare, or break them up over a salad for added texture and crunch.

Because we’re in the beginning of football season and the weather is still warm, I love being able to serve these wonton chips with Edamame Hummus on game days. It’s a lighter option to all that heavy football food.
