How to Make Hot Honey Corn Dip
Prep the Veggies
Start by dicing the onions, mincing the garlic and seeding and dicing the jalapeño pepper. You’ll also want to grate the cheddar cheese.
Saute the Veggies
In a large pan, saute the onions, garlic and jalapeño pepper along with the corn. Do this until the onions and peppers are soft, about 5 minutes.
Make it Creamy
Now, stir in the cream cheese, sour cream, hot honey and chili powder.
Finish it in the Oven
Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese over top of your dip and finish it in the oven for about 5 minutes, just until the cheese melts.

Serving Suggestions
This cheesy hot honey corn dip is best served warm while the cheese is still gooey and the dip has that amazingly creamy texture.
Transfer it directly from the oven to a serving dish, or serve it right in the cast iron skillet for a rustic presentation.
Here are my favorite ideas for dippers:
- Tortilla chips
- Sturdy corn chips like Fritos Scoops
- Pretzel chips
- Pita chips
- Celery sticks
- Bell pepper strips
- Toasted baguette slices
- Crackers

Variations
Add protein: Stir in shredded chicken, cooked chorizo, or crumbled bacon.
Raise the heat: Add cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, extra jalapeños or hot sauce.
Use frozen or canned corn: Canned corn is super easy to use all year round. Be sure to drain the corn thoroughly before using. Frozen corn also works beautifully when fresh corn isn’t available. Just cook it long enough to remove excess moisture.
Add vegetables: Diced red bell pepper and chopped green onions both work well.
Slow cooker option: For parties, you can transfer the prepared dip to a slow cooker and keep it warm for serving. Stir occasionally and add a splash of milk if it becomes too thick.

Storage Instructions
Allow any leftover corn dip to cool to room temperature before storing.
Then, transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days. You can also cover the original baking dish tightly with plastic wrap before refrigerating.
When you’re ready to serve it again, reheat the dip in the microwave in short intervals, stirring between each interval. You can also place it back into a baking dish and warm it in the oven until hot and bubbly.
I don’t recommend freezing this dip because the dairy ingredients can separate and become grainy after thawing.

Tips for Making the Best Hot Honey Corn Dip
- Use fresh corn when it’s in season for maximum sweetness, but frozen corn or canned corn are easy year-round options.
- Don’t rush the corn. Allowing it to caramelize gives the dip a deeper, sweeter flavor.
- Use full-fat cream cheese when possible for the richest texture. Neufchatel works if you prefer a lighter option.
- Let the cream cheese soften before adding it to the skillet so it melts more easily.
- If the dip is too thick, stir in a little sour cream or plain Greek yogurt.
- If it seems too loose, bake for a few extra minutes until it thickens.
