There’s a lot to love about these cheese stuffed breadsticks!

This easy recipe, using refrigerated pizza dough and mozzarella cheese, is the perfect way to complement an Italian dinner and also makes a fun snack for any time.
Using only 6 ingredients, you’ll have golden brown breadsticks filled with gooey cheese and coated with a garlicky Parmesan seasoning.
Serve them with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. Perfection!
Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need to make these easy cheesy breadsticks:
- Pizza dough. Find it in the refrigerated section of your grocery store, or pick it up from your local pizza spot for a made-from-scratch taste.
- Mozzarella cheese. Opt for whole milk mozzarella or part-skim mozzarella cheese. The whole milk variety will give you a creamier result.
- Parmesan cheese
- Butter
- Garlic powder
- Salt

How to Make Cheese Stuffed Breadsticks
Make the dough strips
Make a rectangle out of the pizza dough so that the long end is 18″ long. If you’re using Pillsbury pizza dough, this should be easy because it already comes in the shape of a rectangle.
Now, slice the breadstick dough into 3″ strips. Using a pizza cutter will give you nice clean slices.

Fill the breadsticks
Sprinkle your grated mozzarella cheese down the center of each dough strip. Then, carefully fold the dough over the cheese and press down to seal the seams.

Bake the breadsticks
Now, place breadsticks onto a baking sheet. Make sure they’re lying seam side down.
Brush them with the melted butter, Parmesan, garlic powder and salt. Bake them until they’re golden brown.
Then, when they come out of the oven, brush them with a little more butter.

Serving Suggestions
This recipe yields 6 large breadsticks, so you may want to cut them in half, which will give you 12 shorter bread sticks. You might also like to sprinkle them with a little fresh parsley for color.
Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce like warm marinara sauce or ranch dressing. My favorite thing to dip these breadsticks in is homemade pizza sauce.
Enjoy your cheesy breadsticks on the side of a pasta meal or a large salad.

Storage
Wrap any leftover bread sticks in aluminum foil or plastic wrap or place them in an airtight container. Reheat them in a warm oven or air fryer for 3-5 minutes.
FAQs
You can absolutely make your own dough! I only recommend premade dough because of the convenience factor.
If you choose a different cheese filling for these breadsticks, be sure to select one with a good melting factor like cheddar cheese or string cheese.
You could also opt for mozzarella cheese sticks instead of grated mozzarella, although you’ll need to adjust the cooking time.
