Crispy Chicken Fries

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 1 cup unseasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. hot sauce
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • vegetable oil for frying

Special Sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. sweet relish

Instructions
 

  • Pulse the flour, breadcrumbs and dry spices in a food processor until fine. Transfer the mixture to a shallow bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs together with the hot sauce.
  • Slice the chicken into long, thin strips. Heat 1/4 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
  • Dredge the chicken strips in the egg and then the breadcrumb mixture. Fry the chicken fries in the hot oil until tender and golden brown, about 5 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
  • Remove chicken fries onto a wire rack set over paper towels.
  • Make the special sauce: Stir together the mayonnaise, ketchup and relish in a small bowl.
  • Serve chicken fries warm with special sauce for dipping.
