Winner winner, salmon dinner! I’m excited to bring you this one pan, 30 minute Honey Butter Old Bay Salmon recipe today.
It’s the perfect balance of sweet, savory and garlicky, and did I mention that it’ll be on the dinner table in under 30 minutes?
This recipe is naturally gluten free, and the salmon is packed with healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. And the flavors we’re getting out of just a few simple ingredients will blow your mind.
Everyone in our family is a fan of salmon. We have it at least once a week. And sometimes we need to get creative with how we prepare it so that we don’t get bored.
This easy salmon recipe with its kick of Cajun seasoning was just what we needed in our weekly rotation. It’s an easy dinner that the whole family will love!
Ingredients for Honey Butter Old Bay Salmon
Here’s what you’ll need to make this honey butter salmon recipe:
- Salmon fillets. For this type of recipe, I’d recommend removing the skin. Salmon skin is only good when it’s crispy, and this one-pan method won’t yield a crispy skin.
- Honey
- Old Bay seasoning
- Butter
- Garlic
- Lemon
- Salt
- Pepper
How to Make This Honey Butter Old Bay Salmon Recipe
First, whisk the Old Bay seasoning, honey, garlic, salt and pepper together in a small mixing bowl. The mixture will be pretty thick.
Then, you can either use a pastry brush to apply it to the tops of the salmon fillets, or just spoon it on. Be sure to cover the tops of the fillets with a generous amount of the Old Bay mixture.
Before you put the salmon into the oven, place a pat of butter on top of each fillet.
Also, arrange some lemon slices on and around the fillets. The lemon juice will release as the salmon cooks, giving it the perfect balance of acid to the sweetness of the honey and richness of the butter.
The salmon will only need 10 minutes to cook until it’s ready!

Can this recipe be made with frozen salmon filets? The recipe sounds wonderful and I have frozen salmon filets in my freezer.
Thanks!

Hi Mary,
Absolutely, I use frozen fillets all the time! Defrost the salmon in a bowl of cold water for about 1-2 hours. Pat them dry, and follow the recipe instructions. Let me know what you think! 🙂
