Ingredients

The Donuts

  • 3 cups all purpose or gluten free flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter melted
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt

The Glaze

  • 3/4 cups unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cups confectioner's sugar
  • 3 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

  • Whisk the egg and egg yolk together until frothy. Whisk in the buttermilk, sugar, brown sugar and butter.
  • Stir in the baking powder, baking soda and salt. Fold in the flour. Cover and freeze for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees.
  • Remove the dough from the freezer. Roll into long ropes. Cut into bite-sized pieces and roll with your hands to form ball shapes. Arrange the donut holes in the air fryer. Spray generously with nonstick cooking spray. Cook 6-8 minutes, until golden.
